Proposals from the European Commission would require manufacturers of LGVs and other vehicles to meet new decibel sound levels once these are agreed by MEPs. The regulation will also require that buyers are provided with sound levels at the time of purchase. “The provision of information to fleet managers may influence the transition to a quieter vehicle fleet,” says an EC spokesman. TNT Post says it has secured a “great coup” after revealing details of a contract it began work on in February to deliver mail for Tesco. As a result TNT Post, which demerged from parent TNT NV in May 2011, will deliver all of Tesco’s communications with its customers – totaling some 180 million item a year – including its Clubcard scheme and Tesco Bank.
