MT is looking forward to the return of a live Motor Transport Awards on 2 September 2021 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, and it promises to be another great evening of top entertainment, fine dining and of course the announcement of the winners of the 20 awards.
Last year’s Covid-19 lockdown meant that for the first time in 35 years the awards had to be presented online, but this year we are back in the Great Room of the Grosvenor House for what promises to once again be the biggest night on the road transport calendar.
Despite the easing of government restrictions on large indoor events, the safety of all our guests and staff remains the top priority so we have introduced a number of small but important changes to minimise the chances of spreading Covid-19 while ensuring the evening is just as enjoyable as usual.
We have limited the number of attendees this year to 1,000 to make implementing Covid-safe procedures easier and reduce crowding in areas that often get busy. There will also be more room for guests on each table and designated walkways through the tables in the Great Room.
All guests will be asked to complete a registration form declaring they have had the double vaccination or taken a Covid test 24 hours prior to attending the event.
There will be three drinks receptions at this year’s event with designated entrances and staggered arrival times, with full information found on an e-ticket that will be emailed to table hosts and named attendees.
We will be holding an after-show party in the Ballroom after the awards presentation but numbers will be limited to reduce crowding and sadly there will be no dancing. We will be supporting Transaid at this year's event with a silent online auction for some fantastic prizes and a socially-distanced casino after the awards - so make sure you bring your credit cards!
