Gregory Distribution has acquired 220,000 sq ft of warehousing in Coalville to service five customers and creating 50 jobs in the process. The depot on the Hilltop Industrial Estate is the company’s first in the Midlands and is serviced by up to 20 HGVs.
Angela Butler, Gregory MD, said: “As a group we support customers with distribution across the whole of the UK, with a particularly strong presence in the South West of England and across Scotland.
“A key part of our strategy has been to increase our footprint in the Midlands, and taking on the Coalville site is an exciting development which enables us to do just that.
“We already have a busy transport depot in Minworth and the Coalville warehouse will supplement this and enable us to serve a wider range of customers,” she added.
The facility’s general manager David Stokes said it had already employed 30 staff but that Gregory was still looking for more drivers, warehouse operatives and office positions.
