PANTHER LOGISTICS PLACES ORDER FOR 22 7.5 TONNE TGL MAN VEHICLES TO SUPPORT GROWTH

Two-man delivery specialist Panther Logistics has placed an order for 22 new TGL MAN 7.5 tonne trucks as it continues to see volumes grow driven by the surge in online shopping.

This latest order follows an earlier deal which will see Panther take delivery of 35 new TGX MAN tractor units later this year, as part of its wider fleet refreshment plans.

Panther, which was recently acquired by AIT Worldwide Logistics, said it has invested £1.1m into the new vehicles to meet an “exponential” and sustained rise in demand for non-essential items during the pandemic.

The trucks, which will bear Panther’s new livery, will be split across five depots at Gateshead, Preston, Northampton, Warrington and Castleford and will focus on final drive deliveries of general loads.

The vehicles are fitted with forward, rear and side facing live cameras, and also come with playback in order to improve accident management and ensure optimal safety.

Guy Burgess, logistics director at Panther Logistics said: “This investment will aid the company’s continued growth and help meet increased demand as consumer buying habits continue to shift towards online purchasing.

“Our new vehicles will broaden our service offering and show how the company is proactively seeking to improve its environmental impact.

“We are delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with MAN, a relationship which has spanned over five years, and welcome the new replacement collection and delivery vehicles to our fleet.”
