Parcel and freight delivery group DX has opened a new site in Middlesbrough as it continues to roll out its expansion strategy.

The new facility, located in Riverside Park, is almost three times the size of the depot it is replacing in Hartlepool.

The move sees the new Middlesbrough depot become DX Express division’s operations centre for the North East of England, increasing its collection and delivery capability in the region.

This is the third new depot opened this year as part of the group’s expansion plans for its DX Express division, which specialises in secure, tracked and express delivery services for documents, pouches and parcels to both B2B and B2C end-customers.

This latest launch follows earlier depot openings this year in Glasgow and Rotherham, and marks another step in the firm’s expansion programme.

The company said it intends to continue to invest “significantly” in sites, technology and equipment across the group, with further new depot openings planned for later in the year.

Lloyd Dunn, DX Group chief executive officer, said: ‘We are pleased to be opening this new site in Middlesbrough for DX Express. This new, larger depot will allow the division to both continue to grow in this key region and provide new and existing customers with even higher levels of service.”
