Malting firm goes green by switching fleet to vegetable oil


Simpsons Malt, the fifth-generation family malting business, is the latest to switch its fleet from diesel to HVO fuel in a bid to reduce its CO2 and NOx emissions. The synthetic paraffinic hydro-treated vegetable oil (HVO) fuel, made from renewable raw materials, will power 28 DAF trucks in the firm’s fleet based out of its Berwick-upon-Tweed headquarters.
