Truckpass developer Elandbridge has joined forces with customs brokerage and consultancy firm HABS Customs to set up customs and veterinary clearance facilities in Britain to enable the friction-free movement of goods in sealed containers between the UK mainland, Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The two firms will combine their expertise to help logistics companies overcome the border hold-ups created by Brexit red tape.
Elandbridge has developed the post-Brexit border technology TruckPass which uses blockchain, real-time GPS tracking and the Internet of Things (IoT) technology to fast track freight seamlessly across borders.
Meanwhile, HABS is a customs consultancy firm, formed by a group of ex-senior managers from HMRC, which provides an advisory service to logistics operators who require declarations to be made to clear their goods.

The partnership said its services will offer hauliers an alternative way of managing the flow of goods between Great Britain and Ireland, which reduces the visibility and perception of a border in the Irish Sea, whilst maintaining an open border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland (RoI) and enabling the flow of goods between RoI and the EU mainland, as well as the intra-UK land-bridge between the Port of Dublin and Northern Ireland.
Its technology will also provide customs and veterinary data for SPS-certified goods to the appropriate authorities simultaneously, real time tracking of consignments and will deliver real time warnings of any broken or tampered seals.
