National Seaways Freight in Ireland is installing Camera Telematics’ multi-camera ‘Street Angel’ across its fleet to protect it against insurance fraud.
The four-camera solution provides recordings of any roadside incident and creates evidence in the event of an insurance claim.
The haulier said 80% of its journeys take place in rural areas with narrow roads so it needed a solution that provided visibility of the entire HGV and the subsequent recordings be admissible as evidence.
“For us, Street Angel has been a complete game-changer,” said JP O’Sullivan, National Seaways Freight’s operations supervisor.
“We spoke to several onboard camera providers, but it was clear from the outset that the complete package offered by Street Angel, including a multi-camera solution, no SD card and accurate tracking via the Street Angel app, would provide us with a significant reduction in the risk associated with running our fleet.”
