The 35th Motor Transoport Awards are now open for entries and to allow more time for companies to prepare entries the deadline has been set for 9 April.

The shortlist will be announced at the CV Show on 9 June and, after a virtual awards ceremony in 2020, the announcement of the winners and presentation of the 20 trophies will return to the Grosvenor House Hotel in London's West End on Thursday 2 September.

For 35 years, the Motor Transport Awards have been seen as a benchmark for excellence among UK road transport fleet operators, vehicle manufacturers and other innovators.

Because of Covid-19, 2020 was an extraordinarily challenging year for everyone in transport and logistics. Some firms specialising in events and hospitality saw work dry up and had to reinvent themselves to survive. Others in food retail, and home delivery saw unprecedented growth in volumes that put enormous pressure on staff. All this against a background of the UK’s impending exit from the EU and the constant pressure to cut carbon emissions.

The Motor Transport Awards are all about recognising excellence and while 2020 was a difficult year in many ways it is even more important to reflect the efforts and achievements of the people who made sure the UK was kept going through the crisis. Logistics really is the lifeblood of the economy and never was this more true than during 2020.
