Miniclipper Logistics is to manage Heidelberg UK’s warehousing operation at its facility in Leighton Buzzard.
The company is also set to seek permission to expand its warehousing footprint in Dunstable after landing deals with major new clients.
The new deal with Heidelberg sees Palletline and Hazchem member Miniclipper expand its 20-year logistics partnership with the printing industry specalist to include picking, packing and fulfilment.
Under the agreement Heidelberg is moving its warehousing operations from its Brentford headquarters to Miniclipper’s Hibay facility in Leighton Buzzard.
Heidelberg UK said the warehouse relocation, which began this week will allow it to benefit from “best-in-class global supply chain technologies and systems”, providing it with greater integration, enhanced order fulfilment and an improved the supply chain experience for UK and Irish customers.
The Miniclipper site is close to the M1 and forms part of five warehouses amounting to over 32,500sq m of high bay warehouse space.

In a separate development Miniclipper Logistics is in the process of expanding its facilities after winning new “large volume” customers.
The company will create a transport operations centre at a new facility in Eastern Avenue, Dunstable and relocate its transit warehouse, transport operations and customer service teams and fleet to the new site in the first quarter of next year.
Miniclipper said the move to the 50,000sq ft site, which is on a long-term lease, will allow it to redevelop its current site in Billington Road in Dunstable.
The redevelopment will see a new warehouse built and an existing warehouse extended.
In a statement the company said: “We are currently in the planning and design stage, with planning permission being submitted this month.
“This is an exciting and bold move for us; with new large volume customers that require integrated storage and transport we are evolving and developing our facilities to accommodate these long-term business opportunities.”
