XPO Logistics is processing e-commerce orders more than 10% faster after installing barcode scanners with machine vision in some of its UK warehouses. CollectPlus is to offer Amazon.co.uk customers a service that will see parcels delivered to one of its 5,000 stores across the UK. Customers using the online retailer can now opt for a CollectPlus ‘pick up location’ at the checkout, increasing options for delivery and convenience. Ford has become the latest CV manufacturer to sign up the FTA’s Van Excellence scheme. Launched in 2010, the voluntary scheme offers accreditation to those operators who can demonstrate high quality fleet management and systems compliance.
