Logistics UK said member companies could continue trading smoothly with the EU at the end of the Brexit transition period after it secured discounted access to software from customs experts AEB.
Organisations that will be required to make customs declarations from 1 January can get a lifetime 5% discount on AEB’s four software packages, which Logistics UK said can be used to speed up the process.
Al Richardson, head of membership at Logistics UK, said: “Customs declarations will be required whether or not the UK reaches a free trade agreement with the EU, and by taking advantage of the AEB offer for Logistics UK members now, exporters can cross this area off their to do list as they prepare for our new relationship with the EU.”
The trade association said an online step-by-step process was available to guide users through the process and the platform can be scaled up or down according to the size of the export business.
