MT award winner Wren Kitchens has opened a transport hub in Avonmouth, which it said will provide a more efficient and greener transport service. The three-acre site is located near to the M5 and the retailer said the move had created over 30 local jobs including drivers, porters, supervisors and office staff. Disruption in retailer Habitat’s home deliveries has put delivery firm Panther Warehousing in the firing line of its customers.
Scania (GB) has won an order for at least 2,250 trucks from Consortium Purchasing, an operation led by William Stobart, executive chairman of Greenwhitestar Acquisitions (which owns Eddie Stobart, The Pallet Network and iForce), and Allan Jenkinson (owner of A W Jenkinson Forest Products).
Potter Group Logistics has had its storage and distribution contract with Greencore Grocery extended by a further two years. The contract, worth approximately £3.2m, sees Potter group storing and moving ambient finished products for the manufacturer to customers in retail and foodservice sectors.
