Cartwright Conversions, a subsidiary of the Cartwright Group in administration, has been sold to Sheffield-based Trek Group in a £4.8m deal. The sale of the Belton, North Lincolnshire-based business, which is a specialist convertor for blue light emergency vehicles, saves 66 jobs. Hampshire logistics firm Alton Transport Service has entered administration.
The transport and logistics sector is set for a flurry of mergers and acquisitions this year, according to advisory firm KPMG, following a year of subdued activity in 2011. Steffen Wagner, European head of transport transactions at KPMG, says: “This year certainly took off to a promising start.
