Butlers of Kent has become the latest family-owned business to join the Fortec Distribution Network.

The addition brings Fortec’s membership to more than 80 transport companies - together covering the whole of the UK.

Butlers of Kent, which will cover the CT and partial ME postcodes for Fortec from its site in Maidstone, started out as a 'van and man' in 1986 and now has a vehicle fleet consisting of everything from 44-tonne double deck trailers and conventional tail lift collection to delivery vehicles and small 2.8-tonne bullet vans.

The company offers a range of logistics and distribution services including European, hazardous, airfreight, warehousing and pick and pack.

Owner Roy Butler said: “We are passionate about keeping the UK’s supply chain moving, a job that has never been more important than now, during this Covid-19 crisis.

“To keep everyone safe we are no longer asking customers to sign for their goods, relying on the EDC GPS coordinates for authenticity. We have also implemented daily deep cleaning programs on-site and are prioritising essential goods and critical equipment. We are doing all this as a proud member of the Fortec Distribution Network.”

Fortec MD Adrian Bradley said: “Butlers of Kent shares so many of our values, including our commitment to quality rather than quantity and values rather than volumes.

“A warm welcome to this hard working, innovative company. Working together we are providing efficient forms of freight distribution and enabling overnight deliveries of consignments of any size from a single pallet upwards, anywhere in the UK.”
