Hermes has added seven more gas-powered Iveco tractor units to its 400-strong HGV fleet. Hermes has won a five-year contract extension with plus-size women’s clothing firm JD Williams, for handling UK and cross-border home deliveries. The extended deal, which will run until 2017, will see the parcels firm handling more than 15 million items per year for JD Williams’ 32 brands. Goods will be collected from DCs in Shaw, Greater Manchester and Hadfield, Derbyshire, in a fleet of 15 trailers before being transported to Hermes’ northern hub in Warrington for sorting and onward delivery […]
Hermes has revealed that each of its ParcelShops handled an average 60 parcels a week in the run up to Christmas, as more than 60,000 parcels were moved through the network during the festive period. The carrier has also hit its target of opening 1,000 ParcelShops by the end of 2012, just five months after launching the service in June 2012 with 500 locations.
