Northumberland-based transport management software provider Mandata has acquired Returnloads.net as part of the company’s diversification plans. Essex-based Returnloads.net is an online marketplace for hauliers and freight forwarders where members can promote subcontracting jobs and empty vehicle capacity. JSC Russian Railways (RZD), is in talks to buy 75% of Gefco, the logistics arm of cash-strapped car maker PSA Peugeot Citroën for €800m (£640m). CitySprint has acquired all operations at Woking-based Eagle Express Worldwide Couriers. Its same-day, international and UK overnight operations were acquired by CitySprint on 8 December, taking its network to 35 depots and 2,000 couriers. It will be transferred over to the CitySprint brand later this month.
