Downes Transport has signed up with United Pallet Network (UPN) after Pallet Track gave the company 12 months’ notice last year.

The family firm, which is based in Amesbury, Wiltshire will cover SP and several RG postcodes for UPN.

UPN MD David Brown welcomed Downes Transport to the network. He said: “Downes Transport have an excellent reputation and solid experience in pallet networking.

“I am really pleased that this established family business is committing itself to UPN. They are going to be a real asset to our network.”

Downes Transport was a member of Pallet Track for 14 years. Pallet Track declined to say why the firm, which has an operating licence for 12 trucks and 11 trailers, was given notice to leave the network.
