FTA calls for raft of measures to protect logistics industry both during and after COVID-19 pandemic
The FTA is calling for an extension to the government’s furlough scheme, “sympathetic” repayment terms on government loans taken out during the pandemic and post-pandemic funding for the logistics industry to ensure the rapid recovery of the UK’s supply chain.
Trade associations have welcomed plans for a new secure zone in Calais for UK-bound HGVs but highlighted that more needs to be done to deal with the migrant crisis that has erupted in recent weeks.
