A Felixstowe-based company that planned to build an 85-space lorry park to ease pressure on the A14 has now withdrawn its application. Prologic wanted to construct the site on land off the old A45 adjacent to the A14, as well as build a covered maintenance bay, offices, drivers’ mess, security fencing, CCTV and site lighting. Mercedes-Benz and three of its commercial vehicle dealers – Ciceley, Road Range and Enza – have admitted infringing competition law and agreed to pay settlements totalling £2.6m, the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has revealed.
Express delivery firm Aspray Transport will shortly begin constructing a new 10,000 pallet high-bay storage facility at its Willenhall, West Midlands hub. Construction of the 17m high facility, which will also include an area for block stacking, will begin in October. The firm, which recently bought over five acres of additional land around the site, is also putting an extra 40 parking spaces in place for trailers.
