Specialist HGV training firm PB Transport Solutions has entered liquidation following the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. The Pucklechurch, Bristol-based company appointed joint liquidators from Mazars LLP on 9 April and 11 employees have been made redundant. The company was established in 2011 and supplied a range of transport training courses in the South West. It also operated a 35,000 sq ft warehouse. Car transporter company Drive Force (UK) had only just returned to profitability after experiencing 18 months of cash flow difficulties, before Covid-19 forced it into administration.
Wincanton has reported a strong set of financial results for the year to 31 March 2020, with revenue up 5% to £1.2bn and pre-tax profits up 7% to £52.9m, driven by a 26% rise in revenue from its retail grocery division which picked up a sizeable contract with Morrisons in June 2019 that has just been extended.
