Robin Beard has celebrated his 30-year anniversary at Yodel’s Bristol depot. He left school in May 1979 before joining and passing his training for The Royal Marines in 1980. He went on to serve with 40 Commando, visiting Norway, Cyprus, Belize and the Falklands Islands. Adrian Colman’s successor will start his role as Wincanton’s new CEO on 2 September.
Wincanton has taken on two senior executives from DHL Supply Chain and a senior manager from Yodel to strengthen its business development team as part of a wider strategy to drive growth.
Yodel has not given up hope on striking a deal with the GMB union after more than 250 of its drivers voted to walk out over a pay and conditions dispute.
