Meachers Global Logistics has signed a partnership deal with Geest Line which will see it consolidate and deliver the shipping company’s goods to the Portsmouth Docks.
The move follows Geest Line’s decision to move its operations back to Portsmouth in August last year, after agreeing a five-year deal with Portsmouth City Council-owned Portico.
The partnership with Meachers will see Portsmouth-based Meachers Global Logistics deliver Geest Line’s Caribbean cargo to Portsmouth docks and distribute 150 tonnes of fast-moving consumer goods from Geest Line each week.

Meachers, which is based in Southampton, saw turnover rise by over 17% £30.6m in the year ending 31 May 2019, according to its latest annual results with pre-tax profit up by almost 17% to £2.2m.
In April last year Meachers Global Logistics bought the business trade of Southampton-based freight forwarder Kepair and Sea, as part of its expansion strategy.
Geest Line has weekly westbound sailings from Portsmouth. Its fleet handles a range of general cargo from small perishables to large project machinery, returning from the Caribbean with fruit and tropical produce, for the UK and European markets.
