The organisers of ITT Hub 2020, the new event for innovation and technology in road based-transport, have announced that it will host a special area for government and non-governmental organisations that play a key role in the provision, regulation and development of current and future services across the whole sector.

The event will take place at Farnborough International Conference & Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 May 2020 and the 'Government Hub' will feature various agencies in a dedicated area at the heart of the main exhibition hall, with a shared facility for meetings and networking.

“When we launched ITT Hub, we recognised the need for the many and varied agencies of government to work in close collaboration with industry to rise to the challenge of meeting the net zero greenhouse gas emissions target by 2050," explained Mark Griffin, CEO of organiser Binswood Media.

“Last week’s report published by The Electric Vehicle (EV) Energy Taskforce contained 21 key proposals for actions to be taken by government and industry to enable an effective and efficient electric mobility transition.

“A key proposal within that report is co-ordinating energy and transport planning to ensure we have the right infrastructure in the right place. The strong message from government is that data will also play a significant part in achieving net zero. At ITT Hub 2020 we aim to bring key stakeholders from many areas within the debate together which include operators, energy providers, infrastructure, manufacturers and planners.”

As well as indoor and outdoor exhibition space with the opportunity to ‘ride and drive’ a selection of the latest vans, minibuses, trucks, buses and coaches, powered by a variety of fuels including gas, hydrogen and full electric, the free to attend event will feature a major two-day conference.

This will be kicked off by a keynote speech from British astronaut Major Tim Peake CMG and feature 45 sessions and more than 100 speakers, all leaders in their respective fields.

Commercial partners to the event are Centrica, Lloyds Banking Group, Lex Autolease and National Grid, with the FTA as strategic partners.
