New figures from Northern Ireland’s Department of the Environment (DOE) suggest there are still many operators who should hold restricted operating licences there but do not, after changes to the operator licensing scheme back in 2012.
The FTA has welcomed proposals from local government secretary Eric Pickles that would give businesses the power to force a review of local parking restrictions they are unhappy with. Enforcement of the HGV Road User Levy in Northern Ireland is to begin on Monday (17 November), the Department of the Environment (DoE) has confirmed, six-months after enforcement in the rest of the UK began.
