Leicester-based United Pallet Network (UPN) has reported solid growth in the first quarter of 2019 despite challenging market conditions across the sector. The company saw turnover in the period ending 31 March 2019 rise 7% to £9.5m compared with £8.8m for the same period the previous year. Andrew Spencer has left United Pallet Network (UPN) to return to Pallet-Track as network development director.
United Pallet Network member DBL Logistics has secured £1.8m of funding from HSBC to expand the business with a new 50,000ft² Sheffield DC. Due for completion in January 2013, the new site will run in tandem with DBL’s existing 25,000ft² facility in the Sheffield Business Park, and the company hopes additional volumes will boost its annual turnover, currently £3m per year.
