Wincanton has launched its fully-managed customer order delivery service for home improvement and garden retailer Homebase. The deal, agreed in April of this year, will see Homebase benefit from Wincanton’s extensive eFulfilment CMS proposition and aims to enable better communication regarding items ordered for home delivery. The service will allow Wincanton to manage over 300,000 customer deliveries from Homebase distribution centres in the first year of operation. URTU members employed by Wincanton working at the HJ Heinz factory near Wigan have voted in favour of industrial action following a pay dispute.
Next month we should expect to see full financial year results from Fowler-Welch parent company Dart Group. The only hint of the performance at Dart’s logistics arm came on 19 April when it said: “The business remains well placed for profitable growth.” Even the date in July of its full-year results remain as enigmatic as that statement… but there are some clues.
