XPO Logistics has hit upon a bright idea and invested in “intelligent” LED lighting systems across five million square metres of site surface space. It said it expects to have the systems installed in approximately 75% of its total space in Europe by the end of next year. A strike by drivers and warehouse staff at the Motherwell site of logistics giant XPO Logistics (formerly Norbert Dentressangle) has been suspended after last-minute negotiations between the company and union Unite.
Union Unite is calling for XPO Logistics to close its Swindon depot following an outbreak of Covid-19 at its Iceland facility.
