MT Top 100 company Norbert Dentressangle has begun extending its use of an Isotrak telematics-based vehicle and driver monitoring system to another 140 vehicles within its tanker distribution division, bringing the total number of tankers covered by the technology to 260 across 31 different sites.
Last-minute talks are being conducted today between Indesit UK and union Unite over the pay and conditions of over 200 drivers and warehouse staff at the white goods manufacturer – just over 36 hours before the first of three separate strikes is due to start.
Haulage bosses from six fuel distribution firms are due to resume talks with the Unite union this morning (10 April) following the Easter weekend. Conciliation service Acas is leading the discussions, which kicked off last Wednesday (4 April) and continued for two days, over tanker drivers’ training, safety and employment conditions.
