Hampshire logistics firm Alton Transport Service has entered administration.
The company appointed Quantuma LLP to handle its affairs on 28 August, but according to director Michael Larvan, it has found a company to purchase its assets.
When MT contacted the company, Larvan said: “We have been seeking advice from a solicitor and appointed an administrator. Someone else bought the assets and things will continue. The long and short of it is we have had a number of big boy companies not paying their bills.”
Larvan said HM Revenue & Customs had refused to accept a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) and so it had been forced to put the business into administration instead.
He added that no redundancies had been made.
Alton Transport Service holds a standard international licence for 22 HGVs and 30 trailers and operates out of a base in Bordon, Hants, although Larvan said it currently operated fewer vehicles than its licence entitlement.
Quantuma did not respond.
In 2017, the firm apologised for the inconvenience caused after one of its vehicles struck a bridge in Wrecclesham and closed the A325 for more than an hour.
