Menzies Distribution has entered into an agreement with British Airways (BA) to deliver more than 530,000 newspapers and magazines a week to the airline’s flight gates and first and club lounges.
The service will be undertaken by Media on the Move, the travel media subsidiary of the retail logistics firm.
The exclusive supply contract involves a newspaper gate service at all UK and Irish airports where BA has a presence. Media on the Move will also supply newspapers, magazines and on-board reading material for first and club world cabins at BA’s overseas lounges.
At London Heathrow airport alone, the contract will serve 74 BA branded gate stands across terminals 5, A, B, C and T3.
A Menzies Distribution spokesman said the contract runs for four years and seven months.
The Edinburgh company currently has a total fleet size of more than 2,000 vehicles covering parcel distribution, newstrade and retail distribution and operates out of 65 depots across the UK.
