Ian Aldridge Transport enters administration and ceases trading

Cornish haulier Ian Aldridge Transport has entered administration and ceased trading.

However, a call to the company revealed that its haulage operation has apparently transferred to another business.

Simon Girling and Christopher Marsden at BDO were appointed to the Launceston firm, which as well as general haulage also undertook refrigerated, waste and ADR work, on 24 July.

The haulier was established in 1995 and ran a 20-strong fleet that incorporated daily deliveries to Scotland. It was also an ATF operator.

When motortransport.co.uk called the company we were told that although Ian Aldridge Transport had ceased trading, “the haulage side has transferred to another business”.

Director Ian Aldridge was not available for comment.

In June, the company appeared before the traffic commissioner at a public inquiry in St Ives where records show it received a formal warning.

There was also an instruction for its technicians to achieve IRTEC inspection technician status by 31 December 2019.

In addition, drivers were to undergo JAUPT training on walk-round checks by the end of the year and a compliance audit of maintenance systems was to be repeated and submitted to the Office of the Traffic Commissioners by 31 May 2020.

The administrator was approached for comment.
