Turners (Soham) has purchased 80% of haulier Jack Richards & Son, in a move that sees it enter the general haulage market for the first time. After unveiling double-digit rises in turnover and profit, Turners (Soham) has continued on the upward curve by securing a new five-year contract with Omya UK, one of the country’s leading producers of calcium carbonate. Fuel distributors and the Unite union are poised for a fourth day of negotiations over tanker drivers’ training, safety and employment terms.
