Fowler Welch

Fowler Welch has beaten rivals to win a major new contract with chocolate and confectionery maker Ferrero.

The deal will see the Lincolnshire-based firm manage the full end-to-end supply chain for a new product launch into the UK chilled market.

Fowler Welch, which is part of the Dart Group, will manage around 1.4 million cases a year on behalf of Ferrero through its Nuneaton facility.

Services will include storage, picking and distribution of the new product to retail outlets across the UK.

Sahil Puri, Ferrero chilled supply chain manager, said: “We were immensely impressed with the Nuneaton facility and the on-site dedicated customer service teams, as well as the team’s experience of working with customers and retailers to provide industry-leading service levels. We look forward to a successful relationship.”

Nick Hay, Fowler Welch CEO, said: “Our commercial proposal offers a sustainable and flexible solution that balances Ferrero’s current and future needs.

“Nuneaton is considered a centre for excellence for service and we’re confident that this, combined with Fowler Welch’s ability to manage customers of all sizes, will help us develop a successful relationship with this much-loved brand.”

This latest contract win closely follows Fowler Welch landing a full supply chain contract with Delamere Dairy to handle its Marks & Spencer (M&S) volumes, in May this year.
