Wincanton has released details of its deal to manage Britvic’s new 273,000sq ft Rugby facility, which went live recently. Wincanton is providing engineering and technical support as well as stock management and warehousing for the new 33,000 pallet facility. Asda has renewed Wincanton’s contract to manage and operate the supermarket’s DCs in Doncaster and Larne, Northern Ireland. The renewal runs until early 2016, and extends a relationship begun in 2005 at Larne and 2007 in Doncaster, which was Asda’s first NDC for general merchandise. The Co-operative Food is “pleased” with the outcome of its dispute with around 700 members of staff, which was sparked by the planned transfer of 87 drivers at its Coventry depot to Eddie Stobart Logistics.
Wincanton has won a five year contract with Rolls-Royce, which will see it store and transport generators for the UK armed forces. The firm will store the generators, which are used to power medical and communications equipment, at its shared user warehouse in Middleton, Greater Manchester.
