Global logistics provider DSV is to acquire Swiss rival Panalpina in a £3.51bn deal that will create the world’s fourth largest logistics company behind Deutsche Post DHL, Kuehne+Nagel and DB Schenker. DHL Supply Chain continued to improve its profitability in the UK, with pre-tax profit up 18% year-on-year in the most recent set of results filed at Companies House, despite a turnover drop resulting from the renewal of its NHS Supply Chain contract.
DSV Road depots in Purfleet and Tamworth handled over 10 million kg of freight in September each – the first time the company has achieved such volumes– and the Tamworth site matched the landmark figure in October.
