Cleveland Police has dropped its investigation into an HGV training company that entered administration last year.

A complaint of theft by an employee of Cleveland LGV Training was made in late 2017, which was later described as a “complex financial investigation” by officers at Cleveland Police.

However, a spokeswoman for the force told motortransport.co.uk this week: “The investigation has been closed pending any new lines of enquiry coming to light.”

Cleveland LGV Training appointed administrators in February 2018 and a pre-packaged sale was made shortly afterwards to Tees Valley Driver Training.

The administrators’ progress report published earlier this month confirmed that the administration had been extended until February 2020.

It added: “Based on current and future anticipated realisations the company has no property which might permit a distribution to its unsecured creditors.”

It is understood that Tees Valley Driver Training Training no longer trades; its telephone line was no longer working and its website has been removed.
