Kenyon Haulage Joins Fortec Distribution Network

Kenyon Haulage has joined the Fortec Distribution Network, covering the Blackburn, Blackpool and PR postcodes for the pallet network.

The haulier, which has sites in Blackburn and Woodwille, recently purchased Gilbraith assets from owner Pollock (Scotrans).

It remains a member of rival pallet network, Palletways and was an inaugural member of its Platinum Club in 2013.

Katie Darnell, senior manager of Kenyon, said of the Fortec deal: “Fortec has an optimal network size for our needs and we knew we could put volumes in, while at the same time reducing our costs and overheads.

“It's refreshing how they listen to both their members and the customers and in turn provide a quality service.

“We have developed an excellent relationship with the team and are delighted with our decision.”

Darnell said Kenyon Haulage aimed to continue growing in the UK but also has a desire to move into the international market, which Fortec understands.

Established in 1933, Kenyon was bought by Graham Darnell in December 2016 and runs tankers, as well as delivering full loads to single pallets of a range of goods from garden furniture to beauty products.

Today the firm has 82 vehicles via a mixed fleet and employs 125 people.
