Grocer Co-op has launched a new online delivery service using electric cargo bikes to transport goods from local stores to consumers within two hours. It is the first time Co-op has offered online delivery, and it opted for the power-assisted bikes as they are zero-emission. XPO Logistics has extended its contract with the Co-op, which will see it continue to deliver to stores across the south of England and Wales.
The Co-operative Food is “pleased” with the outcome of its dispute with around 700 members of staff, which was sparked by the planned transfer of 87 drivers at its Coventry depot to Eddie Stobart Logistics.
