Former staff at Duncan Adams are taking legal action against the Grangemouth haulier for failing to consult on their redundancies. The Unite union confirmed its solicitors have around 50 claims from employees, which will be lodged on their behalf. A commitment by Palletways member Rase Distribution to decline any residential deliveries of pallets weighing more than 750kg has cost it £13,000 this year in additional charges, the company revealed this week.
Palletways (UK) saw turnover increase to £163.7m in the year to 31 May 2015 (2014: £146m), according to its latest accounts published at Companies House.
Palletways has introduced evening deliveries to its service offering, allowing it to deliver to customers for 12 hours every day.
