The FTA has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Think Logistics, the educational scheme founded by Abbey Logistics MD Steve Granite that works to promote careers in logistics to students aged 16-19.
Royal Mail employs approximately 141,000 employees and needs a constant flow of new recruits to join the business at all levels. Nadine Kemp, senior people business partner – central logistics teams – at Royal Mail, is a big fan of the Think Logistics programme to get the message about career opportunities in logistics to students at schools and colleges.
The steps transport and logistics firms can take to attract more young people into the industry will be outlined at a seminar session to be held as part of a Future Skills Theatre at the IMHX show at the Birmingham NEC on the morning of 24 September.
