Kidds Transport in Lancaster has put the devastating effects of 2015’s Storm Desmond behind it, investing £1.6m in additional warehousing following “tremendous growth”.

The new warehousing space - located at a separate site to the haulier's Canton Road headquarters - provides an extra 130,000sq ft of storage and two acres of parking to help the Palletways member increase productivity.

It’s a far cry from the events of three years ago, when a cyclone wreaked havoc across the UK hitting the haulier hard.

Kidds’ depot was left in ruins, with some parts under three metres of water, resulting in the loss of around 8,000 tonnes of stock and the writing off of over 100 vehicles.

"This investment means that we’re now able to provide our major customers with an additional local warehousing facility and will facilitate further growth.”
