Developer db symmetry has announced two major deals with food retailers. The Co-op Food Group has signed up for a purpose-built 661,000sq ft regional distribution centre at Symmetry Park Biggleswade while Iceland Foods has taken a 221,000sq ft speculatively-built warehouse at Symmetry Park Swindon (pictured). The amount of warehousing space being built must rise fivefold if the UK is to keep pace with the e-commerce market, according to research by law firm Addleshaw Goddard.
Miniclipper Logistics has expanded its operations and vehicle fleet due to increased demand for warehousing from existing customers, as well as new business wins. The operator has taken on an 87,000ft² warehouse a mile from its main base in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, boosting its overall warehousing capacity to 200,000ft².
