Suttons Group is spending more than £6m on new tractor units– the first in the UK road tanker fleet to feature the company’s new branding. The company is purchasing around 70 new Volvo FMs with Globetrotter XL cabs as part of a replacement strategy to upgrade the existing vehicles, along with new tanker barrels and isotanks. Widnes-based Sutton Group has acquired Imperial Tankers, the bulk chemical transport arm of Hargreaves, creating a single bulk tanker fleet of some 700 units with a combined turnover of approximately £114m from UK operations alone.
