The building of a huge truck park to ease congestion caused by Operation Stack should “push on at pace” because of the uncertainty caused by Brexit, according to Kent’s transport chief.
Government plans to build a £250m lorry park in Kent to prevent delays caused by Operation Stack have been criticised by the Transport Committee, which described the decision as “rushed” and called for more research into its cost and impact.
The construction of a major lorry park in Kent to replace Operation Stack won’t begin until 2018 at the earliest after a judicial review was announced for December.
