UPS has opened a new sorting and delivery site at DP London Gateway. The £120m site will create around 500 new jobs, and is thought to be one of the parcel carrier’s largest infrastructure projects outside of the US. Both UPS and the FTA have raised “serious concerns” with the Scottish government about its proposal to introduce a blanket Euro-6 low emission zone (LEZ) strategy across the country.
UPS has appealed against the European Commission’s (EC) decision to prohibit its acquisition of TNT Express, on the basis the decision was “factually and legally erroneous”.
UPS has pulled out of its €5.16bn offer for TNT Express – in a deal that would have created a business with a combined annual turnover of £1.3bn in the UK – blaming European Commission (EC) concerns with the acquisition.
