Ryder Europe has purchased CV contract hire and fleet management specialist Euroway for an undisclosed sum. Euroway has a total fleet of 1,419 CVs, ranging from 3.5 tonners to tractor units, plus trailers. Daf is the dominant supplier to Euroway. In 2010, its combined divisions generated a combined turnover of about £22m and a pre-tax loss of circa £730,000. Lloyd Fraser Group has placed a 55-truck order with rental firm Ryder following a major 3PL contract win with an undisclosed fashion retailer. The order comprises 45 rigids – 16 Daf LF 7.5-tonners and 29 CF 18-tonne box trucks – which will be used on multi-drop delivery work, as well as 10 Renault Premium 44-tonne tractor units, which will be used on overnight trunking runs to the company’s five hubs.
