Wincanton has toasted its 18-year relationship with wine and spirits producer Pernod Ricard UK by signing a six-year contract extension. The renewed contract, awarded to Wincanton after a tender process, will see the operator continue to provide warehousing and logistics for Pernod Ricard and make deliveries to its UK customers. Today Wincanton posted what its MD Eric Born (pictured) called a “boringly predictable” set of half year results, with a 1.6% decline in group turnover and a 2.6% increase in operating profit.
Wincanton is now a “very different organisation” to what it was a few years ago, as the company increased turnover, more-than doubled pre-tax and continued to reduce its net debt in financial year 2013.
