Eddie Stobart has added two new sector directors to its operations team in order to improve its customer service offering. Antony Leighton has been appointed sector director of manufacturing and industrial and bulk and Nick Winder is the Sector director for retail. More than 400 Argos employees have gone on strike over the proposed transfer of almost 100 drivers to Eddie Stobart Logistics.
Eddie Stobart is facing a third strike by its drivers based at Tesco’s Doncaster DC. Although the operator and Unite had been in talks via Acas in a bid to resolve the long-running jobs dispute, efforts to find a way forward have failed. The 183 drivers, of which 180 are Unite members, have now rejected an improved redundancy offer from Eddie Stobart, and announced they will commence continuous strike action from the 6 December.
