Yusen Logistics UK has upgraded its fleet in a move aimed at reducing emissions, improving driver safety and boosting customer service levels.

The company has purchased 45 new Renault Range-T tractor units and 50 new MAN TGX 460 series tractor units.

They will join Yusen’s 250-strong fleet of Renault, MAN, DAF and Scania trucks by the end of January.

The new trucks, which come just one year after Yusen Logistics UK acquired automotive parts logistics specialist Transfreight, also include telematics, driver assistance systems, cruise and roll control.

Paul Ellis, transport head for Yusen Logistics UK, said: “We believe it is all of our responsibilities to look after the environment, and we see this as an economical investment to reduce our carbon footprint whilst improving driver safety. Furthermore, the new fleet helps ensure we continue to deliver a reliable service that our customers can consistently depend on.”

Yusen UK specialises in the automotive, aerospace, retail, healthcare, technology and food logistics sectors. It also offers contract logistics services from 12 sites across the UK.
